This rate does not include the production cost of farmers. Due to this, the farmers are facing a huge financial loss.

The price of onion should be at least two thousand

Farmers said that they expect to get minimum onion price of Rs 2000 per quintal. Farmers said that if the rate of 2000 rupees is given, only a little money will be left in the hands of the farmers. The sale of agricultural onion continues since last month. However, farmers say that the price has not increased yet.

What did Devendra Fadnavis say in the Vidhan Sabha?

In the budget session of the Vidhan Sabha, the opposition party became aggressive on the onion issue. After this, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that purchase of onion through three companies has been started through NAFED. He also said that soon onion procurement centers will be started in the market committee. However, in reality the situation appeared different. If seen, the market committee has not yet started the purchase of onions by NAFED. At present onion is being procured from Mahakishan Vriddhi Agro Producer Company Limited. However, the farmers are worried due to non-start of purchase in Nafed.

Onion question movement of nationalists

NCP has gone aggressive on the onion issue. NCP has started road blockade movement in Chandwar of Nashik district on the issue of farmers. NCP has started agitation over onion prices, falling prices of grapes, rising inflation. The movement is being led by NCP MLAs Dilip Banker and Pankaj Bhujbal.
