Pune: It has been revealed that a scrap dealer from Pune has defrauded the government of goods and services tax worth Rs 2000 crore. This businessman has been detained by the Pune GST department from Uttar Pradesh. This is the first operation by Pune GST department abroad.

The name of this businessman is Sirajuddin Kamaluddin Chaudhary. Chowdhury’s company ‘Olean Descon Industrial’ has stolen GST tax of 12 crore 59 lakhs by submitting fake bills. After coming to know about this, the GST officials of Pune have registered a case against him. However, he escaped from Pune as soon as he got the chance. Meanwhile, the GST officials were marking him. After receiving information that he had gone to his native village in Uttar Pradesh, the investigation wing of the GST department launched a special search operation.

A special team was formed by the authorities and sent to village Jabjua in Siddharthnagar district. At this place, Chaudhary’s house was kept under surveillance for 3 days. The help of Uttar Pradesh police was sought. Meanwhile, the team arrested Chaudhary on receiving information about his presence there. He was brought to Pune and produced in court. Advocate Mahesh Jhanwar supervised the work. The court ordered 14 days of judicial custody.
