Farmers Suicide: Suicide of another farmer in the circle of Agriculture Minister; Seventh incident in a week

Aurangabad: The case of farmer suicides in the state has come to the fore once again. Last week in Marathwada where six farmers ended their lives, one farmer committed suicide due to the debt and failure of Agriculture Minister Abdul Sattar. A young farmer of Bodar is undergoing treatment in the valley hospital after drinking poisonous medicine. The farmer died during treatment on Sunday (12th).

The name of this farmer is Nandu Bhim Rao Lathe (age 28, Bodwar District Silod). According to the police, Nandu Lath had left home on Saturday saying that he was going to the farm. They drank poison on the spot. As Nandu did not come home in the afternoon as usual, the family members went to the farm to look for him. At this time he was found lying unconscious in the field. His family immediately admitted him to the Valley Hospital. At this time it was found that he has taken poison. He died during treatment on Sunday. Nandu was suffering due to low income from agriculture. He was also in debt. It is being said that he took this step because he could not pay the money.

Meanwhile, when this incident happened, Agriculture Minister Sattar gave an irresponsible statement. Farmer suicide is not today’s issue, farmers have been committing suicide for many years. NCP state president Jayant Patil has criticized Sattar’s statement.
