The third week of the budget session has started from today. Speaking in the Vidhan Sabha today, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde made a big announcement. The state has a large number of onion growers. Despite the large production, the price of onion was not available. Since onion is a perishable crop, minimum support price cannot be applied to it. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said in Sambhagrahi that onion is an important cash crop in Maharashtra and its price is important for onion producing farmers.

Eknath Shinde said, the state government had appointed a committee to provide relief to the onion farmers. The committee had recommended a grant of Rs 200 and Rs 300 per quintal. Our government stands with onion farmers. It has been decided to give them Rs 300 per quintal as ex-gratia grant.
